It is not uncommon for companies manufacturing or exporting goods and services to engage in activities without knowing: (1) the extent to which their conduct might be subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or other export controls; and (2) the steps that must be taken to comply with those export regulations.

This one-day seminar is designed to help companies better understand the fundamentals of ITAR in order to minimize the exposure to possible civil and criminal penalties for non-compliance. Its focus is on:

  • Basic ITAR concepts and processes
  • ITAR registration and licensing requirements
  • Agreements with foreign businesses
  • ITAR compliance issues
  • Disclosure and enforcement actions

This seminar will provide attendees with an understanding of ITAR. The discussion also will include the most recent State Department guidance regarding registration requirements as well as the types of licenses and other approvals that must be obtained prior to export. Recent consent agreements will be analyzed to underscore the need for company compliance programs and this seminar will also address the elements of a successful ITAR compliance program.
