Proposal Writing: Sweet Spot Bidding

Our previous newsletters have stressed that companies should not respond to public bids unless they have a relationship with the customer. While this is generally true, the following are exceptions.

  1. Proposals in response to multiple awards, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (task order) solicitations
  2. Sweet spot bids for companies offering niche services where competitors are limited
  3. Bid where relatively standard (model) proposals can be used to meet the RFP requirements
  4. Bids with low cost proposals

These types of opportunities represent situations where a company can use debriefings and after award sales calls to seek new business if they are not awarded a contract.
