Proposal Writing: Sweet Spot Bidding
Our previous newsletters have stressed that companies should not respond to public bids unless they have a relationship with the customer. While this is generally true, the following are exceptions.
- Proposals in response to multiple awards, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (task order) solicitations
- Sweet spot bids for companies offering niche services where competitors are limited
- Bid where relatively standard (model) proposals can be used to meet the RFP requirements
- Bids with low cost proposals
These types of opportunities represent situations where a company can use debriefings and after award sales calls to seek new business if they are not awarded a contract.
