Sources Sought Announcements Are Requesting GSA Schedule Information

As one would expect, Fedmarket constantly monitors federal bid announcements including those pertaining to sources sought or requests for information.  It has become increasingly clear that contracting officials are more frequently looking for contractors that hold GSA Schedule contracts.  See below for examples of such postings:

Oxygen Masks/P/N MF10-03-02/MF20-514 - HSCG3812S010004 - Federal Business Opportunities: Opportunities HSCG3812S010004

Data Privacy Safeguard Program - HHS-CMS-DBSC-SS-12-938 - Federal Business Opportunities: Opportunities HHS-CMS-DBSC-SS-12-938

In our view, this trend suggests that vendors who have pre-approved GSA Schedule pricing will have a marked advantage.  Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts are the government's solution to the delay associated with publicly-posted bid opportunities.  In essence, the procurement official seeking the goods or services needed wants to solve his or her issue as quickly as possible while minimizing the paperwork associated with the acquisition.  The solution is to use an IDIQ and GSA Schedule contracts are the grandfather and broadest of all IDIQ contract vehicles.

Become a GSA Schedule contractor and position your company to succeed in winning long term, government-wide contracts.
