IDIQ Contracts: Purchasing Vehicle of Choice for Facility Contracts

Just like the federal IT sector, which has been rich with contracting opportunities for interested vendors, Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts have been prevalent for facility-related contracts for the last few years. Unlike the IT sector, which has seen a significant slowdown, they continue to be announced because they are smaller and more focused than the large scale IT IDIQs.

The following are examples of recent postings:

Multiple Award IDIQ Large Construction Contract for Pennsylvania - GS-03P-12-AZ-D-0023 - Federal Business Opportunities: Opportunities GS-03P-12-AZ-D-0023

S--Sources Sought-MATOC ESS - W912BU-12-Z-0003 - Federal Business Opportunities: Opportunities W912BU-12-Z-0003

Fedmarket expects this trend to continue indefinitely. The federal government still has to operate, and facility-related budgets are more difficult to cut than defense budgets.
